Philippe Starck approaches each hotel re-design as a director, gleaning inspiration from the hotel's unique character and paying utmost attention to every detail, no matter how insignificant. His 1998 renovation of the Sanderson Hotel in London continued to push the boundaries of what is real, taking inspiration from "mental games, optical illusions, eccentricities, dreams and successful impossibilities."

What could be more surprising than a set of hand weights doubling as objets d'art waiting for you in your room? They are sensuous and sculptural, feeling as if they are moulded by and from your soft hand while retaining the metal's cool, stone-like quality. They illustrate how the smallest detail in Starck's oeuvre can still lift us out of the ordinary into a world of imagination and possibilities.

To celebrate Inform's 60th Anniversary, XO-design issued a limited edition run of Phillippe Starck's iconic POAA weights, originally designed in 1998 as part of London's Sanderson Hotel renovation. Each weighs 3 kilograms (6.6 lbs) and is stamped with the xO and STARCK logos. The set comes housed in a black foam-lined case.

35.8 x 26.4 x 4.6 cm. 7 kg total weight.

Brass with a brushed nickel finish. Stamped with the original xO and Stark logos and packed in the original black case with cushioning material.
