Inspired by the thousands of lakes in his native Finland, design legend Alvar Aalto’s fluid waves (“aalto” in Finnish) shape made quite a splash when it won the 1937 Paris World Fair. Each unique glass vase goes through a multi-step production process at the Iittala Glass Factory.
