Part of the permanent collection of the Centre Pompidou in Paris, Ico is Cassina’s most complex chair and exemplifies the company’s excellence in the field of carpentry and quality manufacturing, the best of what the Meda area north of Milan can supply, MedaMade, as it is known. This contemporary design, the outcome of technological innovation backed by fine artisanal skills, starts from a structure in solid ash wood, shaped by state-of-the-art CNC machinery, and then finished by hand by seasoned craftsmen. Among the details worthy of note: the all-wood joints, typical of all Cassina’s products, and the stitching that fulfils both a technical and an aesthetic function.
