Vico Magistretti
Vico Magistretti (1920–2006) was a key 20th-century furniture designer and architect known for his experimental yet harmonious designs. Following a lineage of architects, notably his great-grandfather Gaetano Besia and his father Pier Giulio Magistretti, he completed his university studies in 1945. He collaborated with major Italian manufacturers throughout his career, creating iconic furniture and lighting designs. At the same time, Magistretti expanded his architectural work, characterized by modern, streamlined forms and a keen focus on colour, material, texture, and pattern, reflecting his design philosophy across both fields.
