Tom Newhouse

Tom Newhouse's distinguished design career spans over 45 years, beginning at Herman Miller Inc. and later founding his firm in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Educated at the University of Michigan School of Art & Design, he has significantly contributed to furniture, lighting, and appliances. Since the late 1970s, he has focused on environmentally sustainable design, reflected in his passive solar, earth-sheltered home. Now semi-retired, Newhouse has transitioned to fine art, exploring sculpture and coloured pencil drawing while embracing his commitment to eco-friendly practices.
