Shiro Kuramata
Shiro Kuramata (1934-1991) was a renowned Japanese designer lauded for his Minimalist furniture crafted from industrial materials. He studied at the Kuwasawa Design School in Tokyo and began his design career in 1965, continuing until his passing. In his work, Kuramata always prioritized the aesthetic qualities of materials while considering functionality. His pieces are part of esteemed collections at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, The Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the National Museum of Modern Art in Kyoto.
