Ritva Puotila

Ritva Puotila (1935-) is a Finnish textile designer and the artistic director of Woodnotes, a company she founded with her son Mikko in 1987. Woodnotes was the first to use paper yarn in contemporary functional textiles, which remains central to its collections. Puotila has designed innovative carpets and created the versatile Cool cushion with Minna Ahokas, which functions as a seat, ottoman, and table. She has received several prestigious awards, including the Kaj Franck Design Prize, Finland Prize, Good Design Award, and Red Dot Design Award. Her works are part of major museum collections, including MoMA's Architecture and Design Collection.
