Poul Henningsen
Poul Henningsen (1894-1967) was a renowned Danish designer who studied at the Technical School in Frederiksberg and the Technical College in Copenhagen. Initially practicing functionalistic architecture, he eventually shifted his focus to lighting, where he gained fame. Henningsen also ventured into writing as a journalist and author. His long collaboration with Louis Poulsen Lighting began in 1925 and continued until his death, influencing the company's ongoing work. His pioneering theories on light structures, shadows, and colour reproduction remain foundational to Louis Poulsen Lighting's practices today.
