Niels Bendtsen
Niels Bendtsen (1943-) has dedicated his life to design and craftsmanship. Growing up in Denmark and emigrating to Canada in 1951, he started creating Scandinavian-influenced furniture with his father. His early work, including the Ribbon Chair, is part of MoMA's permanent collection. In 1963, he opened the furniture store Danet Interiors (now Inform) and, in 1981, founded Bensen, focusing on affordable yet elegant furnishings. Bendtsen has collaborated with international brands like Magis, Montis, Moroso, Starbucks, and FLOS. His designs aim to harmonize aesthetics, manufacturing, and functionality, ensuring a timeless appeal.
