Nani Marquina
Nani Marquina (1952-), following her studies in industrial design at Barcelona's Escuela Massana, created bespoke textile pieces, leading to the founding of Nanimarquina – a brand dedicated to innovative rug design that embraces traditional craftsmanship. In 1993, Marquina took a bold step by moving manufacturing to northern India, incorporating local craftsmanship into her designs, which further solidified her brand's identity. She has held leadership roles in various design associations, including President of the FAD from 2014 to 2019. In recent years, Marquina has returned to her creative roots, focusing on design and leading her team in developing the highly successful Tre collection.
