Mogens Lassen
Mogens Lassen (1901-1987) was a pioneering figure in Danish functionalism. After a brief stint in engineering in 1927, he returned to Denmark, inspired by his experiences in Paris and established his own studio. In addition to architecture, Lassen designed furniture and objects, most notably the iconic Kubus candlestick he began creating long before its commercial release in 1962. In 2008, Lassen's grandchildren and great-grandchildren founded By Lassen to honour his legacy and that of his brother, Flemming Lassen.
