Michele De Lucchi & Giancarlo Fassina
Michele De Lucchi (1951-) is an Italian architect-designer. After his studies, he collaborated with the radical group Cavart before joining Studio Alchimia. In 1980, he co-founded the postmodern group Memphis, challenging traditional design with bold colours and shapes. From 1992 to 2002, he was Director of Design for Olivetti. - Giancarlo Fassina (1935-) studied architecture at Politecnico University in Milan. After graduation, he worked in industrial and lighting design, becoming a key figure in the Italian avant-garde of the 1970s. In 1980, he joined the Radical anti-design movement. Fassina, with Michele De Lucchi, won a Compasso d'Oro award for their iconic Tolomeo series of lamps.
