Matteo Thun

Matteo Thun (1952-) studied under Oskar Kokoschka and Emilio Vedova at the Salzburg Academy and graduated in Architecture from the University of Florence. He spent formative years with Ettore Sottsass, co-founding the Memphis Group in 1981. After teaching ceramic design at the Vienna University of Applied Arts, he established his eponymous studio in 1984, becoming a leading voice of his generation. Based in Milan and Munich, Thun's practice focuses on creating conscious, respectful, and sustainable design solutions.
