Jacques Adnet
Jacques Adnet (1900-1984) was a prominent French architect and Art Deco Modernist designer renowned for his luxurious approach to French Modernism. After studying at the Municipal School of Design in Auxerre and the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs, he co-founded JJ Adnet with his twin brother Jean. In 1925, Adnet gained recognition as a leading young designer at the Salon d'Automne and Les Expositions des Arts Decoratifs. He designed furniture, mirrors, and interiors, consistently pioneering new trends. An avant-garde thinker, Adnet was among the first to incorporate metal and glass in furniture design, and post-war, he notably began using leather to cover his creations.
