Hommage à Pierre Jeanneret
The Hommage à Pierre Jeanneret Collection celebrates the work of Pierre Jeanneret (1896-1967), a key figure in the design of Chandigarh, India, alongside Le Corbusier (1887-1965). Proposed by Prime Minister Nehru, the city allowed Le Corbusier and his team, including Jeanneret, to experiment with architectural and urban theories. Jeanneret’s experience in India influenced his designs for the project, blending modern European ideals with traditional Indian spirit. The collection, produced in Cassina’s workshop, features pieces like the Capitol Complex Table and Armchair, characterized by a wooden frame with Viennese cane seating and available in teak, natural oak, and black-stained oak.
