Hans Bølling
Hans Bølling (1931-) is a Danish architect and designer. Initially training as an advertising designer, he was encouraged by his future wife Søs and her family – especially architect Axel Wanscher – to pursue architecture. Bølling studied at The Royal Danish Art Academy, where his design philosophy began to develop. Using a turning lathe, he crafted small wooden figures for friends, which showcased his precision and personality. After winning a design award, he invested in carpentry equipment, leading to the production of his iconic wooden creatures and furniture. Bølling's work, characterized by its joyful and cheerful essence, became renowned in mid-20th-century design.
