Fritz Haller & Paul Schaerer

In the early 1960s, architect Fritz Haller (1924-2012) was commissioned by USM managing director Paul Schärer (1933–2011) to design a new factory and administrative buildings and develop suitable furnishings for the new offices. Together, they collaborated to create the USM Haller modular system, initially conceived as an internal solution. It has grown to become one of the most successful and widely appreciated modular furniture systems for home and office use.
