Franco Albini, F. Helg, A. Piva, M. Albini
Franco Albini (1905-1977) was a pivotal figure in Rationalist design, establishing his Milan studio in 1930. His innovative approach blended traditional craftsmanship with modernist principles, creating a unique aesthetic. In 1951, Franca Helg (1920-1989) joined Albini's studio, and together they produced notable projects, including the award-winning design for the Milan subway system, which earned the Compasso d'Oro in 1964. After Albini's passing, Helg carried on the studio's legacy with Antonio Piva (1936-) and Marco Albini (1940-). Piva contributed his expertise in design and education, while Marco, Franco's son, infused the studio with his experience in museum design and architecture.
