Christoph Böninger
Christoph Böninger (1956–) studied industrial design in Munich and Los Angeles, where he created the world’s first laptop computer as his dissertation project, now exhibited at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich. After gaining practical experience in Munich, Böninger moved to New York to develop designs for Siemens. Böninger’s approach emphasizes a deep understanding of materials and their interactions, often combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. Passionate about furniture design, he founded Auerberg in 2010. Böninger is also the Chairman of the iF Design Foundation.
