Aldo Bakker
The Dutch designer Aldo Bakker (1971–) takes an uncompromising approach to design. His use of shape, material, and colour is delicately balanced to trigger a response and defy perceptions about the relationship between object and person. Despite their tranquil appearance and the modesty of their monochromic surfaces, Bakker’s objects are anything but submissive; they make us stop our everyday routines to ponder their unexpected details, inviting us to perform everyday acts with more attention.
