Join Inform and UBC SALA on October 22 for a speaker event with Jamie Harte, who will be discussing his latest architectural project, Vienna House.
A partnership between BC Housing, the City of Vancouver through its Vancouver Affordable Housing Endowment Fund, and the More Than a Roof Housing Society, Vienna House is an innovative, near zero-emissions building in East Vancouver. The 123-unit dedicated affordable housing rental building is part of a knowledge-sharing collaboration with the City of Vienna, where a similar project is underway. Vienna House is an opportunity to test innovative solutions to affordability, climate change, and social equity, as well as share research findings from the process.
Jamie Harte is a Senior Associate at Public Architecture and is the Project Architect on Vienna House. A certified Passive House designer, Jamie has worked on a number of multi-unit projects built to Passive House standards, including Skeena House, Canada’s first Passive House-certified student residence.
